Are taxis readily available in San Miguel de Allende, and what do taxis cost in San Miguel de Allende?
Suzie Osman
Taxis are available in San Miguel de Allende. On an average, if you were staying in town, it would cost 45 pesos (US $3). It’s around 45 pesos it seems no matter where you go. If, on the other hand, you’re coming from downtown to Los Labradores (about 10 miles from downtown, which takes about 20 minutes), it would cost 150 pesos (US $7.50). I have been asked to pay a lot more, but I just passed them up. Normally, they will agree to do it for 150 pesos.

I’m happy with that service so much so that so far I haven’t even driven my car to town. There’s a taxi driver named Ruben who I call pretty much every time who also services other people here in Los Labradores.

The cheapest you would pay for TV service here in Nicaragua is between US $20 to $25 a month for a basic cable service.
If you want a satellite dish with HD reception, with record and play, you can expect to pay about $50. You will get all the channels such as CBS, NBC, CNN, HBO, and most of the premium channels. Sometimes, they even give out a free TV set. There are months where the cable company has a promotion and they throw in a flat screen TV.

But if you need a single family home consider the land's price of approximately $12 per square foot (about $65,000 for an eighth of an acre) plus around $85 per square foot (about $170,000 for a 2,000 square foot house) for construction and up, depending on your design.

Is the electricity reliable in Cayo, Belize, including San Ignacio and Belmopan? Are there blackouts or brownouts in Cayo, Belize, including San Ignacio and Belmopan?
Franklin Syrowatka - Better Homes Belize
From time to time there are blackouts or brownouts in Cayo but it is not really an issue. If there is a blackout, we normally get a text message telling us that the power will be out for a certain number of hours. It also tells us which areas will be affected by the outage.
If you have an extensive range of freezers you might consider having a backup generator but normally, if you are on the grid, the electricity is reliable. The blackouts do not...

Can I use my Medicare outside the US, and if not, what are my alternatives?
Craig Morrissey - Hospital Nacional
Retiring overseas, keeping Medicare Part A and then returning to the US to use it if you need hospitalization is a contingency plan that is used by some expatriates. However you should be aware that there are some emergency cases, such as a heart attack or stroke, when this will not be possible because of time constraints. It is worth noting also that Medicare does not have international benefits, so it can only be used in the US and US territories.

Two bodies of water surround most of the peninsula of Baja California. On the eastern side is the Sea of Cortez (also known as the Gulf of California), while the western side faces the more familiar Pacific Ocean. These watery expanses merge at what looks like the large, natural arch you've seen pictures of at Baja’s southern tip, Cabo San Lucas, about 750 miles roughly south of the US-Mexican border. At its widest, the peninsula measures about 85 miles from side...
Zaqueo hired a third friend of his from his home area named Chicalo. He was to be an “ayudante,” or assistant as they are called when they don’t have a specific trade. Chicalo had only one working eye. The other had been irreparably damaged by a bungee cord accident. I used to work with eye surgeons, and one of them told me, “Don’t EVER use bungee cords, and tell everyone you know they are very dangerous and to throw them out!” She had...

It was sad seeing the changes in America in the 2009, 2010, 2011 years. Obama had proven to be a total disillusionment. The rising cost of living was hitting us hard with increased costs for medical care and fuel, higher taxes, and Obamacare looming out there at the time. We were worried. Arne worked and earned good money as a freelance sound-man mostly for Lockheed...
