Where are the best beaches in and around Volcan and Cerro Punta, Chiriqui Province, Panama?

There are actually no beaches in Volcan, Panama as it is a mountain area, with cool weather and beautiful landscapes.
Volcan It is a horseriding and birdwatching area, so if you are interested in any of these activities or similar, Volcan is a good place to be.
The closest beaches to Volcan are about 35 minutes away, and lyou can get there by car or bus, stopping by the city of David first.

Playa Barqueta is the closest one. Once you get to David, its just about 10 minutes. This is a beach mostly visited by surfers from all around the world.
You can also visit Las Lajas Beach, which is about 1 hour away from David or Puerto Armuelles, a town full of beaches 1 1/2 hours from David.

The best beaches closest to Volcán are due south where you’ll run into a community called La Concepción. To get to La Concepción, you’ll need to turn left on the Inter-American HIghway and travel for approximately five minutes. Once in La Concepción, turn due south, which will run you straight to La Barqueta, which is the closest beach to Volcán- approximately 50 minutes away.

La Barqueta is a beautiful black sand beach. I lived in La Barqueta during my first two years here in Panama. La Barqueta is a wide-open sandy beach that runs for approximately 18 kilometers. In La Barqueta, you’ll find east to west views of the wide-open gulf of Chiriquí. At La Barqueta, you’ll find the Las Olas Beach Resort and four other very small, typical mom and pop restaurants that are right directly on the beach and serve your typical Caribbean-style fish, even though it’s on the Pacific.
