For surfing in the Volcan area of Chiriqui Province, I recommend Playa Venao in the province of Los Santos, approximately 4 hours from David, Chiriqui (the closest larger city to Volcan, about an hour away from Volcan by car, so 5 hours total). However, you can try body boarding in Playa Las Lajas in Chiriqui, approximately an hour from David, Chiriqui or 2 hours from Volcan.
