Gardeners in San Miguel de Allende usually charge 60 to 65 pesos an hour (US $3.25 to $3.50) and I don’t think any of it really depends on how many days they work. There are also landscaping companies that can come to your house once a week and do work for you, as opposed to the individual gardeners.
The length of time that a gardener spends to take care of your garden depends on how big your garden is and what needs to be done. Personally, I do not have a gardener any more although I have a lot of outdoor plants. My maid likes to do gardening but doesn’t have the opportunity to have a space for herself, so on some days she works extra for me.
But if I had somebody come in twice a week to water the plants, and they were only there two hours, twice a week, that is also possible. The gardeners usually have other jobs that they do as well. Not everybody here in San Miguel de Allende has a property large enough that they need a gardener to stay for 8 to 10 hours a week. Some people do, but not everybody.
