You wouldn't be able to find the beach in the Cayo District in Belize because the entire area is inland.  This is the area where everybody would run when they are trying to get away from storms that come from the sea.
 
If you lived in the Cayo District and wanted to go to the beach, you could go to Guatemala or you would have to come back down through and go south to the island that leads to Honduras off of Dangriga.   You could also go all the way down to...

The closest beach would probably be Hopkins, which is two and a half hours away by car.
