What electrical current or voltage is used in Belize? Will my electrical appliances work in Belize?

In Belize, electricity, telephone, and internet is all the same as in the States, so if you are coming from the States or Canada, you use the same outlets and the same power voltage. Your phone is pretty much the same as you what use in the States. That makes it very convenient; you don’t have to bring your adapters.

We have the same power voltage here in Belize as you do in North America; 110 volts. The only downside is that we get a lot of power outages. We had a national power outage recently for about 45 minutes, so the whole country went offline for that time. The cause was a huge thunderstorm.

The electrical voltage in Belize is 110v, so it is the same as in the US. We also have 220v but you have to put in a special wiring for 220v.
In my house, I have a couple of outlets for 220v such as the outlet for my dryer but the normal voltage is 110v. So if you are coming from the US, you can just bring your electrical appliances down to Belize, plug them in, and they will work.
