Is there good bus service in Volcan and Cerro Punta, Chiriqui Province, Panama?

The bus service in the Volcán and Cerro Punta region is superb. It is inexpensive (especially if you are a retiree, a "jubilado") and safe, and the "conductores" are ready to help you with packages or suitcases.
The custom here, which I love, is that when someone gets on the bus, she or he says "¡Buenas!", and the folks already on the bus respond in kind. (Sadly, this custom is slowly dying as the U.S. style of ignoring everyone takes further...

The main bus line, between Davíd and Cerro Punta, goes by every 15 minutes in either direction. In Volcán one can also take busses to Rio Sereno (the Costa Rican border) and other destinations.

Volcan and Cerro Punta have good bus and taxi service. Of course bus service is less expensive. For airplane flights you need to go to David where we have a newly constructed international airport (flights to San Jose, Costa Rica) and domestics flights within Panama.
