Are the doctors in Volcan and Cerro Punta, Chiriqui Province, Panama good?
James David Audlin - Editores Volcán Barú
I have seen several doctors in Volcán, Paso Ancho, and the provincial capital of Davíd. The doctors in this region of Panamá are all at least acceptably good, and most are terrific. Many of them speak English (I speak Spanish fluently, but it is nice that, if I don't know the medical term in Spanish I can resort to English). Many of them were trained, or practiced, in the United States. The cost of a visit is always more than reasonable ($10-$30, typically).

There is a new hospital being constructed in Volcan. Probably it will be ready by the end of this year. Doctors are good and most of them speak English.
