Bus service in San Francisco, Panama City, Panama is as good as in the rest of the city. Keep in mind San Francisco represents a (sizable) section of the metropolitan area. Please note however that it's mostly a residential area and therefore you'll need to exit the smaller streets and proceed to the larger avenues, such as Via Porras, Calle Cincuenta (50) or Via Israel. I have not taken a bus in a long time, so I cannot really comment about if there is a good bus service in the San Francisco area of Panama City, but there are relatively new busses, and the government of Panama has been putting a lot of money into the public transportation services in Panama City. The bus fare is rather cheap, no more than $1, which is one of the reasons that the busses are being used by a lot of people in Panama City.
