Interesting Question. The people of El Valle de Anton currently are locals who are a mix of Indian, Spanish, American, West Indian, and others of various European descent. Most are of Indian and Spanish descent, but there is a mix. Then you have expats who are Canadian, American, European, Russian, Asian, (Both Chinese and Indian), and even Africans. There are also those who neighbor Panama like the Costa Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Mexicans,...

There are also those who neighbor Panama like the Costa Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Mexicans, and so on.. I myself am American, Spanish, Scottish, American Indian, Panamanian, Costa Rican, and couple of other ones I can't remember. Panama has been a gateway for the world for over a hundred or more years, and in all that time we have had a lot of visitors stay.
If you want to know whom the original people are, I would guess it is the Guaymi Indians. I don't know for sure, but we do have many of the original descendants of Panama here.. The Kuna, Choko, and a few others I can't pronounce correctly..
Many people come here on the weekends from all parts of the country to join the local market here. Either to sell or buy. That is one of the main reasons that El Valle is so fascinating. One of the best ways to get better answers would be to see the local museum at the historical church. I hope this helps.
