Yes you can wear jewelry in El Valle de Anton and be safe; a ring or watch or chain but I wouldn't over do it.  You have to remember these people are poor for the most part, some making around $300 per month.  Now that is $3,600 a year, and you're sitting there showing a $4,000 ring, $1,000 chain and a $1,000 watch, which is almost two years' work for them.  People in the states have been killed for a whole lot less then that....

Be aware you´ll be doing a lot of walking..one of the regular things to do at El Valle .. maybe horse back riding, or hiking..or simply...taking a splendid siesta at your hammock, and for that, you´ll not need jewelry, just your total focus on having fun and enjoying your time in El Valle.
