How's the nightlife and entertainment in and around El Valle de Anton, Panama?
Ivan Marquez - Manglar lodge
The nightlife in El Valle is really slow. People mainly go out for dinner early. Most places close around 9 pm on week days visit some of the local bars and that it.
No casinos, nightclubs or anything crazy

There is no nightlife in El Valle. There are cantinas. Some of them have pool tables but you’re not going to find many expats there. There is a sports bar being built by an expat who is looking for somebody to run it for him or rent it so they can have their own bar and restaurant which could become another expat hang out but right now there isn’t any really. Most of the nightlife consists of people visiting each other in their homes.

We do have quite a few restaurants, but none of them play music. In El Valle you go to the restaurant to eat. There’s no place for dinner and dancing.
There’s a much larger expat community in Coronado, which is about 45 minutes away, and which has more nightlife than El Valle. You do not go to El Valle for the nightlife. There is, however, a Thursday night poker game with eight of us. $20 buy in, 10 cent ante, pot limit.

There is not much nightlife in El Valle de Anton. There are a few bars here for locals and some restaurants, too but they close at around 9 PM, which is considered late her in El Valle. So you are in a bit of trouble if you are looking for nightlife in El Valle. The best place to go for some nightlife is Panama City (75 miles away from El Valle). They have great nightclubs and restaurants over there.

Personally, I do not drive to Panama City; I take the bus instead. I do that because Panama City is in a state of upheaval right now because in the past couple of years, they have been putting up a subway. Well, the subway already opened about six months ago, so it is not quite as bad as it was, but I would rather take the bus to Panama City because it is very inexpensive. It only costs me US $6 round trip. It is comfortable and I do not have to worry about parking. The bus stops at the terminal where the biggest mall in Panama is located. From the terminal, you can get on the subway, or the metrobus, which costs US $.25 to go anywhere.
If I want some nightlife, what I do is check in on a hotel in Panama City or stay at a friend’s house so that I do not have to head back immediately to El Valle.
You can also go to Coronado (25 miles from El Valle) for some nightlife. There are a few places in Coronado that you can go to such as pubs or pizza places that are open at night. Expats go there to meet during the week. There are a number of restaurants, too. Nightlife in Coronado is not as great as in Panama City but it is certainly much more than the nightlife in El Valle.
