Taboga, the beautiful flower island...El Valle, the crater town...Boquete next to Volcan Baru, amazing flowers everywhere, everything is really green, the soil real rich, there is lots of sunshine and the favorite "hibiscus" (papo in Spanish) and "bougainvillea" (veranera, they are the 'summer' flower) are everywhere. Trumpet trees, wild impatients... it's endless...
Many other beautiful flowers abound as well like roses, poinsettias, hydrangeas, and not to forget all the...

Many other beautiful flowers abound as well like roses, poinsettias, hydrangeas, and not to forget all the vegetables up in the Boquete, Volcan, Cerro Punta area. It's lush and alive, fertile and no lack of water.
It seems that as soon as you leave the Panamericana and turn inwards towards the mountains and get just a little elevation, flowers are everywhere, not to forget all the citrus, avocados, mangoes, cashew trees, papayas, bananas, etc. etc....
And then some coffee too..........

Tobago has a Festa del Mar fest in January usually (next year will be their 3rd annual festival). For the daring, go to the jungles of Darien, but take a guide. Also remember the Smithsonian annual seminars at the National Headquarters in Ancon on Tuesdays at 4 pm.
