You can wear jewelry in Coronado and fell safe AND BEAUTIFUL!!!. It´s very safe. I have an apartment in Clayton and my wife walks around with jewelry also and never had a problem. The problem with my wife is that she needs more fingers and a third hand... ( to wear MORE!!). :)

Here are a couple of pictures of my wife & business partner Janet wearing jewelry not actually in Coronado Panama but at a fantastic Sunday barbeque that we attended on February 16, 2014 at the fabulous Pearl Club in Playa Bonita (Pretty Beach), nearby.
Please notice the jewelry piece that Janet is wearing around her neck = Reprosa Treasures of Panama... a golden frog Panama's Huaca - representation of pre-Columbian art.

Frogs were believed to bring life to the earth & great luck to anyone who is fortune enough to possess a golden frog Huaca!

Coronado, Panama is about 1 hour from the city of Panamá, after crossing the Panamá Canal bridge.

After crossing the canal, you enter the charming countryside, with green big trees around you, passing by town after town, until you get to the beach area, where Coronado is located.
Coronado is a nice gated place, attractive to many visitors. At the entrance of the town, you find three modern malls, one emergency hospital, several restaurants and shops of all kinds. In addition, as Coronado is essentially a great place for Panamanians to gather on weekends or holidays, as well as visitors or expats, there is a resort as well as an equestrian and golf club, bringing people all over the world. This is the reason why you can see elegant women wearing all kinds of jewelry in Coronado, as well as modern bathing suits on the beach.
And no matter where they go, whether walking, jet skiing, horseback riding or driving, women will not leave home without their jewelry, especially earrings, or their brand name pocket bags. The last thing they think about is being robbed. Of course, as anything in this world and anywhere, it might happen, especially if you don´t use precaution, but the chances of it happening in Coronado are very low. Just use your personal judgment, which is your best tool.

You certainly can wear jewelry in Coronado and feel safe. Yesterday my wife Janet and I enjoyed our dinner at the Coronado Golf & Beach Resort. Janet dined on the Corvina fish special. I wish that I would have taken a picture of Janet's meal to share with you, because her dinner's presentation included the whole Corvina fish on her dinner plate. You may know Corvina better as Sea Bass.

Here is a picture of Janet wearing her lucky golden frog Huaca with the lush tropical vegetation of the Coronado Golf & Beach Resort in the background. Janet says that I should buy her an even larger Huaca jewelry piece so that it will make it easier for everyone to see the jewelry that Janet safely wears in Coronado Panama. :)

While this question: Can I wear jewelry and feel safe in Coronado? may seem silly at first glance - - it isn't totally silly.
OK, so flashing wealth around those less fortunate may seem like a dangerous thing to do, and yes, it does get over 100 degrees here, just seven degrees north of the Equator. And yes, gold gets pretty hot and can burn your skin in the tropics. OK, fine, it may seem like it's tempting fate, but my question...

And yes, gold gets pretty hot and can burn your skin in the tropics. OK, fine, it may seem like it's tempting fate, but my question is: Who the heck are you trying to impress? The bartender at your all-inclusive resort? Or is it that sexy tourist in the tux at the next black jack table? (Panama does attract a very sophisticated criminal.)
Didn't you watch James Bond Quantum of Solace (shot here)? Or the last three Survivor shows (all shot here)? Leave the bling at home, or you could get voted off the Isthmus. Come and relax. You are pretty enough without it.
