Taxis are the standard mode of transportation in Granada, Nicaragua, with bicycles following as a close second. Taxi rides are about US $.40 per person almost anywhere in the city central. Don't be surprised if the taxi drivers picks up fares along the way and suddenly you have five other people riding along with you. If nothing else, this is a great way to get to know the city!

Taxis are very cheap-- from US 40 - 60 cents. The cost will depend on where you are going (usually 40 cents around the center area of Granada and 60 cents outside the center area).

Taxis aren´t private. You will share the ride with 3 or more other people, which is a great way to meet people, and the city. If, however, you are the first one to get into a taxi, sometimes you will be only one; that will depend on the taxi driver.
