Belize has different desserts. We have cakes, flans, cold cakes, salads, etc. You will find all kinds of desserts here.
The common desserts that you will find here are cakes and flans. Cold cakes are also very common in Belize. Cold cakes are no-bake cakes. A cold cake is made of biscuits layered with milk and cream and some fruit cocktail on top. You put it in the fridge for several hours and it’s good to go. We call it “cold cake” because you put it in the fridge after preparation. It tastes very good and it’s too easy to make.
We have some family members who do not eat sweets so instead of a sweet dessert, we prepare salads for them. We mix cucumber, lettuce and tomatoes, topped with some lime and salt.
