Are there rivers, lakes and waterfalls in or around Volcan and Cerro Punta, Chiriqui Province, Panama?

There are natural waters in the Volcán and Cerro Punta region. The area is dominated by the Chiriquí Viejo (Old Chiriqui) River. Outside of Volcán are "las lagunas", not technically lagoons, of course, but called that - a series of small picturesque lakes. I have seen but not visited waterfalls on the road to Rio Sereno.

There are rivers, lakes and waterfalls in and around Volcán. Volcán has a lot of tributary water, including rivers and lakes. I can’t think of any other community off the top of my head that has two different lakes like Volcán does.

Volcán has the old Chiriquí River that reminds me the most of out West of any other river that I’ve seen in Panama. The Chiriquí River is a wide river with stone boulders and swimming holes. The water that flows in Chiriquí River looks like a whitewater rafting type of river. A lot of the other rivers that you’ll see in Panama we would call creeks in Kentucky. These are rivers that are not very wide and don’t have huge volumes of water. The Chiriquí Viejo River has a large volume of water and is very wide. It’s more like an American-style river.
The waterfalls are harder to get to, like an hour and a half hike away. There are waterfalls here in both the Tisingal Range and the Baru Range.
