Volcan is a fairly large agricultural town of about 12,000 people which serves as a regional centre for the area from Rio Sereno to Cerro Punta to Questa de Piedre. There are no fancy stores in Volcan, but it has everything you will need on a daily and weekly basis -- lots of gas stations, a couple large grocery stores, several hardware and farm supply stores, and lots of restaurants, some of which are quite decent -- Kids World and Mana come to mind first.

If you decide to move to Volcan or Cerro Punta, you will probably want to make a trip once a week or two to the big stores and malls in David, but for your daily needs, you will not need to leave Volcan.
