Granted, it is obvious at a glance that she is a Panamanian. If you are a woman of relatively dark complexion and dark hair who can pass for Panamanian, you could probably wear the Hope Diamond without any worries; most Panamanian women, like my wife, do so - Panamanian women are typically dressed extremely nicely even for ordinary errands, and that includes tasteful jewelry. On the other hand, if your appearance makes it obvious you originated in another country, you might want to exercise caution - don´t wear obviously expensive items at night while unaccompanied in relatively dangerous areas. This, of course, is pure common sense that should be exercised anywhere in the world, not just here.
