What are the outdoor activities in and around the Pedasi, Azuero, Panama area?

The best outdoor activities in Padasi are the superb beaches. A surfers' paradise can be found at Venau beach and there are many more beaches within close proximity for all of the family to enjoy.
Iguana Island is great for a day trip and some great snorkeling. Whales are often spotted in the area and a variety of fish around the reefs. Fishing is another great sport there.

Giovanna Romero - Pedasi Tours
There are so many outdoor activities to do in Pedasi!
I would recommend as a "must" the horseback riding in Oria Arriba. It has beautiful mountain scenery, lots of monkeys, horses, birds and a huge river! During the horseback riding a local can take you around the forest to see all the wildlife and help you cross the Rio Oria. You can jump in the water or if you are adventurous enough you can try kayaking here! Its a great place to see in Pedasi...

The best outdoor activities in Pedasi are fishing and surfing. You can also go whale watching or turtle watching, but that depends on the season.
Fishing is one of the most exciting activities here. Pedasi is called the tuna coast. You can rent a boat and go out in the sea to fish for 2 to 4 hours. You can go near Isla Iguana or even further if you want to.

Venao Beach (about 45 minutes from downtown Pedasi) has a huge surfing scene. They hold international surfing competitions over there because that is where you will get very high waves. Venao offers surfing lessons, too. They also have a couple of hotels, hostels, and villas with pools and restaurants. You can go to El Sitio, which is a hotel, bar and restaurant that is pretty nice at night.
Whale watching is usually done during June, July, and August. We see humpback whales during that time of the year and they usually stay around Isla Iguana. They come here to have their baby whales and then they migrate.
And then turtle watching is more during October and November. The most famous place for watching them is in Cañas Island, about an hour away from downtown Pedasi by car.

Whale watching is the best experience I ever had in Pedasi. Whale watching season is from August until November. We have tourists go out on a boat for two hours to see whales and even large schools of dolphins (pictured). It is a breathtaking experience to get close to whales. Some people even jump in the water and swim with them, something I have done many times.

We have a few options for horseback riding, in terms of what Pedasi Tours could offer you. One would be horseback riding over the Oria Aribba, which is 20 minutes from Pedasi by car. There’s a stable and you can have guide to take you through mountains and several rivers where the horses are actually submerged all the way in the water when it is raining. You can gallop through the mountains. It is a great experience. The other option for horseback riding is to go on the beach. I recommend going to Venao and galloping through the forest from Venao to Playita. You go through the forest to a little mountain and reach another little, taller horseshoe bay, protected beach.
