Pedasi's nightlife is starting to pick up quite a bit lately. We just had this super cozy and romantic little wine & cheese bar open right in the middle of town. The place is called Bienvanidush and it offers great a selection of exported wines and beers. The place is famous for delicious cheese plates. Meat lovers can enjoy great carpaccio, amazing liver pate. Bienvanidus also offers home made Mediterranean hummus. They have great music playing and its turning in to a...

Bienvanidush cheese plate Pedasi Azuero Peninsula Panama – Best Places In The World To Retire – International LivingSmileys is an old favorite, with their live music nights every Thursday and Friday. You can always find a happy friendly face and nice cold beer. When the band is playing you are guaranteed to have an awesome night.
Finally, a personal weekend favorite of mine is El Sito in Playa Venao. Their infamous parties are a local attraction for tourists, expats and happy locals alike. Great music, great vibe, right on the beach. What more can you ask for ?

How's the nightlife and entertainment in Pedasi, Azuero?
The last time I went to Pedasi was in the middle of last year. I stayed at a friend of mine's small hotel. They had a vibrant, local clientele who enjoyed eating, drinking and gossiping until around 11 at night. Over the next few days, I strolled the streets at night. Safe and relaxing but most everything shut down early. Pedasi is a nice place to kick back but if you are a party animal who wants discos,...

Visit anyway to calm your nerves....

In Pedasi, you’ve got to sort of make your own entertainment and nightlife. There’s a well-known expat hangout called Smiley’s that has music and that shows the World Cup Series and football games, that type of thing.
There are also places in Pedasi that will host parties and different social events. Being involved in this is part of being active in the community. There’s always something going on, if you’re plugged into the...

To see a movie, you’ll have to go to Chitre, about an hour away.
There’s always some type of holiday or celebration in Pedasi, especially around Carnival. It’s pretty incredible all the activity and people who come to Pedasi for that. There are lots of activities for Carnival.
If you want to get out with the locals, they do have festivals here. But on a week-to-week basis, there is pretty much just one or two places in town where you can go for entertainment.

In Pedasi you can find something to do every day and every night of the week. The places I enjoy the most are (according to my personal routine) Smiley’s on Friday night, where they play music from the 70s and 80s and 90s and live music, and on Saturdays, usually, there is a really nice party at a place in Playa Venao called El Sitio. (In the future, we will open a luxury hostel in Playa Venao with great entertainment.) During the week, Pedasito Hotel is the...

(In the future, we will open a luxury hostel in Playa Venao with great entertainment.) During the week, Pedasito Hotel is the hot spot.
All the bars in Pedasi are usually open all the time where you can find nice people hanging out. You have a good amount of backpackers coming through who you can talk with. On this subject, it is curious that you see the older people and expats here in Pedasi mix so easily with the backpackers. I’ve seen people here from Germany, France, Africa, Asia, all at the same table and talking. It’s really nice ambience.
You’ll see people dancing on Saturday night at El Sitio in Venao, which is the cool place to go.
If you want to go to a movie or get more variety of entertainment, you’ll have to drive an hour away, to Chitre.

There are not a lot of places where you can go here in Pedasi at night. There is a new bar in town called New Way and you can go there for nightlife. There are other restaurants but that’s about it. There are no clubs here so we don’t get much of nightlife unless you make your own party at your home or apartment.

There are no clubs here so we don’t get much of nightlife unless you make your own party at your home or apartment.
Street parties, however, are common here in Pedasi. We have street parties about twice a month and almost everybody goes. They are usually held near the park or near the school. They don’t block out the streets but everybody goes out in the streets and there is very loud music.
During Carnival, the town of Pedasi is divided into two: Calle Arriba and Calle Abajo. In preparation for Carnival, for the rest of the year, these two parts of the town create events and traditional parties for their part of the town. Each part of the town has their own queen and they have a huge celebration during Carnival.
The people who manage the street parties twice a month do so to raise money for their queens in order to have money for Carnival. During street parties, one bottle of beer costs US $1. Once it is Carnival again, then the people who manage the parties will be replaced with new volunteers.
If you really want some nightlife, you would have to drive to Las Tablas, which is about 45 minutes away from Pedasi by car. They have a night club there. They also have two casinos. Las Tablas is a small town just like Pedasi but they have a little bit more. If you want something big, then you can go to Chitre, which is about an hour and 15 minutes away from Pedasi by car. Chitre has a lot of restaurants, clubs, bars, and movie theaters. They also have casinos and hotels that have their own bars and restaurants.
