How's the biking in and around the Pedasi, Azuero, Panama area?

To wake up early in the morning and take your bike to go around Pedasi is one of the most energetic and healthier things you can do here. Since Pedasi is a relatively little town, you can go pretty much everywhere by bike. You need to be cautious as there are no bike paths, but there isn't much traffic either. You can visit the different beaches: El Arenal, La Garita, El Toro, Lagarto, and even Los Destiladeros, which would be about 30 minutes by bike from town. There are also many...

There are also many types of birds, flowers, and plants in general to see along the way. Just don't forget your bottle of water, as it is very hot and humid.

The bicycle riding in Pedasi is very good. There are lots of flat roads and there are a few new roads that are really smooth that you can ride your bike on. You can ride all the way to the beach in Pedasi on your bicycle on smooth roads. People look out for you on the road so they don’t hit you.
Pedasi doesn’t have any bike lanes or bike paths and there aren’t really any sidewalks, so you have to be careful when you’re riding.

While not extremely popular now, more and more people are riding their bikes in Pedasi.
In Pedasi, you need to have your bicycle registered. They give you a little tag to put on your bike. The cost is just a couple dollars.

People ride their bicycles in Pedasi everywhere. On account of the large amount of people who have bicycles in Pedasi, you have to have a permit for your bike issued by the municipality. On the main street you can see 10 – 15 people riding bicycles at one time, in all directions. This includes native Panamanians, expats, and tourists. We have a place called Pedasi Tours that offers bicycle rentals. It is very common to see bikes downtown.

I actually like using my bike to go around town in Pedasi because everything is close. There are places where you can rent different kinds of bikes such as mountain bikes or road bikes.
People sometimes take bikes to go to the beach. They enjoy the beach and come back on the bike. There are no bike lanes in Pedasi but we do not have much traffic here so the street is pretty safe to go out on a bike. You can take a bike and go just anywhere. You can even take a bike...

There are no bike lanes in Pedasi but we do not have much traffic here so the street is pretty safe to go out on a bike. You can take a bike and go just anywhere. You can even take a bike from Pedasi to Las Tablas (the road s pictured here) if you want to because the roads are perfectly paved for biking.
Mountain biking is also available in Pedasi. There is a place here called Orea Arriba where mountain bikers usually go. It has big hills and it’s nice because you can enjoy the view and get good exercise at the same time because it’s hilly you would have to use a lot of leg power. It can easily take you about 4 hours to ride from Orea Arriba and back to Pedasi.
