- Pedasi is more of a tourist area, and growing.
- The markets in Las Tables or Chitre are larger, with more variety and the markets there have more competition.

Compared to Panama City and also the Pacific coastal areas near Panama City, the cost of living in Pedasi is much lower for land, construction, food and electricity.

A brand new, turnkey house in Pedasi with about 2,150 square feet built to American standards near the beach will run you about US $255,000.
Food, especially if you get the fresh food from the cart, besides being less expensive, is much better quality and fresher in Pedasi than in Panama City.
Relative to the cost for electricity, I can tell you from personal experience that I pay just 25% of the electricity bill I paid in Panama City, because 1) I use less electricity for air conditioning in Pedasi, because it is less humid; and, 2) you pay less per unit in Pedasi than in Panama City. In Panama City, for my 102 square meter (1,100 square foot) apartment, I paid US $280 per month. In Pedasi, my bill is from $80 - $100, tops.
The cost for water in both Panama City and in Pedasi is cheap (although the water quality in Pedasi is better than in Panama City). In Pedasi, my water bill is usually less than $20 / month.
Services like cable TV and phone cost about the same in Pedasi as they do in Panama City.

The Pedasi cost of living varies like anywhere else; it depends on the exchange currency (USD) and commodity values.
As defined in the Webster Dictionary, cost of living: the cost of purchasing those goods and services which are included in an accepted standard level of consumption.
Per the above definition, the cost of living in Pedasi to any given individual may vary depending on his desired lifestyle, just like everything...

Pedasi Its a very popular destination for European (French, German, Czechoslovakian), American, Canadian and even Israeli backpackers. This will tell all wanting to visit that Pedasi is affordable, friendly and sustainable, especially if the visitor originates from a fully industrialized First World county.
Pedasi is beautiful and is located in the heart of the land that began the Panamanian Freedom for Independence.
