The history of this beautiful town of Pedasi begins in the pre Columbian area when the first indigenous settlers colonized Azuero Peninsula. With the arrival of the Spanish colonizers around the 16th century, Panama became the gateway to Latin America with Panama City being the first city in all of early Latin America.
The entire indigenous community was displaced to give way to the new Spanish "Conquistadores".

The district of Pedasi was created in 1840 as a sub-division of the county of Los Santos which at that point was part of the province of Panama, at that time, part of Columbia. Back in the day, and even nowadays Pedasi is a "hot spot" for both fishing and agriculture.
An interesting fact is that Pedasi is the home town of the first female president of the republic of Panama, Mireya Moscoso and where she currently resides today.

Dekel decided to invest in the infrastructure in Pedasi and to develop it in order to add additional value, not just to their real estate development, but in order to offer people who decide to move here and buy property all the other amenities they would need. That’s why Dekel invested in the airport and did a deal with Air Panama to have flights to Pedasi. Dekel also invested in infrastructure on the roads all over town. They tried reinvest their money in order to develop Pedasi in general and make it a tourist destination, not just for those looking for real estate properties, but for everybody.
In the past few years, Pedasi has developed in terms of what it can offer expats. Restaurants and hotels are reasonably priced and there are a growing number of amenities and facilities for daily needs. We have a hospital that is scheduled to open soon. We have three flights from Panama City to Pedasi every week. A one way ticket from Panama City to Pedasi is around US $100.
