What are the best and worst things about living and retiring in Pedasi, Azuero Peninsula?

However, Pedasi is a very small place which for many people is great but if you would like more of the conveniences that come with a more populated area you may want to consider Chitre, which is where I live.

However, Pedasi is a very small place which for many people is great but if you would like more of the conveniences that come with a more populated area you may want to consider Chitre, which is where I live.
Chitre is also on the Azuero Peninsula, 1.5 hours away from Pedasi. Chitre is considered "The Best City to Live in Panama" according to The Gorgas Institute because of the great quality of life and also because Chitre has all the amenities that Panama City has but without traffic. These amenities include banks, supermarkets, shops, great hospitals, good customer service, etc. In Chitre you can enjoy all these things with no traffic.
If I want to have a great weekend I just have to drive 1.5 hours towards Pedasi but I will always come back to Chitre to live for all the things I mention above.

The best thing about retiring in Pedasi is the amount of activities there are for you to do. The fishing here is incredible and there are a lot of activities that you can get involved in. This has also been fixed now though with a new 3 times weekly flight from Panama City to Pedasi. We also have a new large hospital opening up soon, which is a great addition to Pedasi.

The best thing about Pedasi is that it makes you feel at home, which is a special quality. I have shared my feeling with many other people and we have concluded that Pedasi feels like home. Whenever you’re here in Pedasi, you feel welcome; you feel that you belong to the place. It’s a really special feeling. I know I may sound over-dramatic, but I feel that it’s a little bit magical here.The second best thing about living in Pedasi is the quantity of things to do. You can have this really fun day at the beach all day long, from surfing to swimming to doing paddle surfing; 20 minutes later you can be in the mountains hiking; 30 minutes later you can be on an island that looks like its in the Caribbean, but its in the Pacific (Iguana Island); and at the end of the day, you can relax, have a glass of wine at a really nice restaurant, and then you can use the really fast Internet to check your email. So, you can basically have everything.
The only bad thing I can think of about living in Pedasi is if you visit. Whenever you get to Pedasi, you’ve got to stay for at least 3 – 4 days. Pedasi is not a place to go for one or two days because there are so many things to do.

The Azuero Peninsula where Pedasi is located is called the Isthmus of Panama Riviera. It's the Panama Surf Capital.
Its all about being adaptive and loving spirit like the hawks that are in abundance in the area.

The beach side in Pedasi is quite interesting. You can find almost everything you would want and need in Pedasi. There are also a lot of expats living in there. The main activities in Pedasi are fishing, snorkeling, surfing and diving. There are a lot of hotels and restaurants there, too. Just like other small towns, they do not have a hospital but they have a very good clinic that can assist you quickly during emergencies. If you really need care in a hospital, you may go to Las Tablas,...

They keep it very clean and neat; it is not messy at all.
One thing that some may find a disadvantage of living in Pedasi is the heat. It is very hot over there because it is at sea level. Pedasi is in the Azuero Peninsula, which tends to be a really hot area of the country of Panama. If you are the type of person who is not bothered with the hot climate, then you will be fine in Pedasi.

I think the worst thing about living in Pedasi is if you want to buy something specific, you might not find it here. For example, if you want Indian food, we don’t have that here, but you can find it in Panama City. I think everything is just great here in Pedasi. This is such a calm place.
