For the most part, the electricity in Pedasi, Azuero Peninsula is reliable, but like many small towns it sometimes goes out for short periods of time during carnivals and times when alot of people congregate in the town at one time.

Electricity in Pedasi, Azuero Peninsula, Panama Really is pretty reliable, just like in the rest of the country, power does go off at times when strong rainstorms happen, or lightening strikes...brown and blackouts do happen, more frequently in the real remote areas. I always keep some candles handy, but this also happens in the big cities....

The delivery of electricity in Pedasi is pretty consistent. However, sometimes there are problems on account of nature, like thunderstorms, deluges, strong rains, etc. When these problems happen, the electricity can go off for a short time.
Problems like these can happen in any place and we cannot control them, so it is not something that is unique to Pedasi or that characterizes day-to-day life here.

Power outages are common here in Pedasi. Most are only for a couple of minutes and result in the minor frustration of waiting for the internet or satellite TV to reset, but in the 11 months we have lived here, we have experienced one outage of about 8 hours and another for about 20 hours. Fluctuations are frequent as well and special surge protectors should be used for any electronics that contain motors to keep them from burning out if the power isn't sufficient to run them properly....

Nevertheless, we love living in Pedasi!
