- Azuero has the highest percentage of households with a car in the country (45% vs. 39% in Panama).
- High standard of living: significant percentage of Azuero households have computers, Internet, cell phone and air conditioning.
- The construction industry has achieved record growth with an increase of 26% in the number of building permits from 2009 to 2010.
- Several new companies operating in the area have doubled between 2008 and 2012.
- Also there are so many investors in Chitre because "something is going on" and everybody wants to be part of city with:
- Low cost of living.
- Low crime.
- Great access to hospitals.
- Access to major banks.
- Access to supermarkets and major stores.
- Proximity to excellent beaches.
