The crime rate in general in Pedasi is very low.
Pedasi is located at the tip of the Azuero Peninsula. The Azuero Peninsula in general is a very calm area where many people from different countries visit constantly to have a safe a nice trip. Locals are very good people and willing to help all the time.
Chitre, where I live, is located farther up in Azuero Peninsula (about an hour and a half from Pedasi)...

Pedasi is a very peaceful place but as is
the case everywhere, you must always be cautious, always leave doors closed and try not to be alone in dark places.

The crime rate in Pedasi is very low. You hear about a petty theft once every three months, but it’s nothing really major. You feel safe here. It is definitely much safer than any typical large city. There are no problems with the backpackers because they usually come in here to just surf and do mostly water activities. They go to the beaches and they stay there. They are mostly Europeans and Americans. The visiting backpackers are not really a major...

Pedasi is a welcoming community. It has a special charm and you feel at home whenever you come here. That’s how I feel personally.
