From personal experience my wife has never had a problem wearing jewelry in any part of Panama. Obviously one should not wear expensive jewelry that is on view as there is always the possibility of theft. Then this applies to any country that you go to.

I agree with Bill here. I have not have been made aware of any particular issues with jewelry theft in Panama, but with any county, one should be vigilant.

but always be very cautious about where you are and don't wear anything really flashy.

I’m personally not aware of any specific case of jewelry theft in Panama. However, like in any other place in the world, people should be always attentive to what is going on around them. I recommend not wearing expensive jewelry that can catch people’s attention, since there is always the possibility of theft.
