However, from the Marbella area you can take a day trip to the beaches that are located on Contora Island of the Pearl Islands. At the present time there are two different ferries that make the daily trip from Panama City to Contadora Island. One ferry leaves each morning from the Trump Ocean Club and the other ferry departs from the Amador Causeway. Also tour companies offer day trips to the beaches of Isla Grande and the San Blas Islands also known as Guna Yala. The beaches of the Coronado area are located about 50 miles from Panama City. Another beach area for you to check out when you are in Panama is Playa Bonita.

Marbella is right in front of the Bay of Panama and it has the Cinta Costera right in front of it, too. The Cinta Costera is a nice place to exercise and it is right in front of the ocean. You will meet people from all around the world and from all parts of Panama walking and exercising.
The water in the Bay of Panama is not safe yet to go and swim in but little by little, the government is cleaning the bay and probably soon, we are going to have a beach...

The water in the Bay of Panama is not safe yet to go and swim in but little by little, the government is cleaning the bay and probably soon, we are going to have a beach there. Right now it is just rocks. There is no beach.
The closest beach to Marbella is probably a 35-minute drive to Panama Pacifico. You can go to the Playa Bonita Hotel, which is a Westin Hotel. You get there by going west, once you cross the Panama Canal and way before you get to Coronado.
Personally, when I want to go to the beach, I go to Buenaventura and sometimes I go to Coronado. Most people in Panama City drive an hour out of Panama City to go to the beach. Some people go to their beach houses on weekends. Everybody goes to the beach on Friday night and they come back to the city on Sunday night.
