The roads in Marbella, Panama City, Panama are wonderful.
Marbella is an area in Panama City...can be considered part of the "financial area" of Panama City.
The roads in Panama City/Panama in general are VERY good. Right now there are a lot of overpasses being constructed and a Metro being constructed in Panama City so traffic can get a bit hectic at times...but once all this is finished we believe the traffic...

No, in Panamá vehicles with four wheel drive are mainly used at the country sites, after you cross the Panamá Canal. Within the city there are some damaged streets, but in general, we have a very modern road system throughout the city of Panamá. Especially between the international airport of Tocumen and downtown is a beautiful highway by the bay...at a Pacific Ocean, a perfect way to arrive to Panamá.

Marbella, a well known and central neighborhood in Panamá is commonly designated the "banking area". It has many residential buildings, commercial sites, and some residences. Actually it is a small neighborhood, but surrounded by good neighborhoods like Obarrio, Paitilla, Punta Paitilla, Punta Pacífica and others.
In Marbella within walking distance, you can easily find the World Trade Center, two major hospitals, lots of restaurants, hotels, modern malls and other facilities.

Panama City is under constant construction so the streets are a mess, especially around the construction. There is a new subway system going in that goes from the airport to the city.
Also one needs to use caution when driving on the streets and roads because people steal the man hole covers. The basic rule is, drive around the man hole or straddle it.
You don’t necessarily need a four wheel drive, but bigger is better.
