What are the expats like in the Panama City, Panama area of Marbella?

The expats in the city of Panamá (including Marbella, which is located in the city of Panamá) or along the country, are very happy they have chosen Panamá as their destination to live or to make investments.
Marbella, as a neighborhood inside the city of Panamá, is a very nice place, and many foreigners have purchased condos there, either for a permanent or partial stay, for example the "snow birds", who return to their country of origin as soon as those terrible snow storms in their country end.
If they have the official resident / pensionado visa, these expats enjoy their numerous discounts on movies, airline tickets, restaurants and in many other places, which not many other countries offer. Another benefit for visitors to Panamá is the medical coverage provided to them for 30 days while they stay in Panamá, courtesy of the Authority of Tourism of the Republic of Panamá at no charge.
One thing if for sure....expats in Panamá really enjoy every minute of their lives. It is very common for them to get together and go for lunch, dinner or just a coffee. They also organize events and get-togethers with friends. Pools and beaches are part of their normal life, as Panamá has tropical weather all year round. But within a very short distance, they can also go to the mountains or other outdoor adventures.
Now, with the new metro, going from one place to another has never been so easy...from one mall to another....from one restaurant to another... and so on, at a ridiculously low price. And shop.... expats can shop all they want, as there are tens of stores where you can buy everything and anything just for a few dollars. No need to go anywhere else, from clothing to TVs, at unimaginable prices.
And if your pleasure is traveling, or cross country.... you have everything you need, from hotels for all budgets, to horseback riding, or simply, to visit a coffee farm. Everything is there for the expats to enjoy.

The expats who go to Panama to retire go to other places, while the ones who have a pretty active life come and live here in the city because they want to be surrounded by business people and entrepreneurs. They need to have the facilities needed to develop whatever business they have here.
Expats prefer Marbella because you can live an active life here....

Expats prefer Marbella because you can live an active life here. There are casinos, restaurants, clubs, and so on. In addition, the Torre Las Americas, which is one of the main business buildings, is here and many transnational companies have their offices there.

There are expats in Marbella. For example, Venezuelans do not like buying on the beach. There are lots of Venezuelans that moved to Panama and there are lots of them in Marbella because it reminds them of some of the cities in Venezuela. There are also Europeans, Americans, and Canadians in Marbella. It is not American dominated, even though there are a lot of Americans there.

Majority of the expats in Marbella are not retired. Most of the Americans there would be retired but if you took all of the expats including Venezuelans, Colombians, Chileans, and Europeans, you will find that a lot of them have come here to work a little bit more. They like the city feel and a smaller percentage of expats that are retired.
