How's the adventure travel and activities in and around the Panama City, Panama suburb of Fort Clayton / Clayton?

Basically Clayton, a suburb of Panama City, Panama, is urban but has green surroundings with birds and some animals. Most properties have nice spacious gardens. There is also the City of Knowledge and offices based there. The houses are very nice and were the original houses built during the American occupation. About 10 minute by car there are some nice jungle trails and lakes, too. In around 30 minutes one of the best trails is the pipeline trail where one can see Howler and Capuchin monkeys as well as a large variety of birds and butterflies. The Morpheus butterfly is prolific. Ant eaters, iguanas and humming birds are seen frequently, too. About 30 minutes along the trail there is an adventure center where there are a huge variety of hummingbirds and a tower that can be climbed with a centers guide who will point out varieties of birds to you. The trail is very long and is wide and an easy hike.

The Panama Canal Zone, a district near Panama City, Panama, is known for great adventure traveling. The area is one of the best in Panama for bird watching (check out the Pipeline Road and the Panama Rainforest Discovery Center) as well as other adventure related activities. My personal recommendation is to partake in adventure travel on Lake Gatun and around Gamboa, which is an important part of the Panama Canal. Lake Gatun is an artificial lake that was built as part of the Canal passageway. Tucked within the waterways there are many trails and secret places that you can discover.
Whether you are into hiking or jumping off spectacular waterfalls, there is something for you on Lake Gatun.
