Do I need to own a car in the Panama City, Panama suburb of Fort Clayton / Clayton?

Clayton is a suburb that is sort of far away from the main city nucleus, which is what makes it a more peaceful place to live. With that said, the transportation system (MetroBus) for that area is not very frequent.
The MetroBus will depart from Albrook Mall Bus Terminal and will go around all the Clayton areas, the City of Knowledge close to the Panama Canal and then back to the bus terminal, but you will have to wait a little bit for the bus to pass by....

Taxis from there to downtown or to other areas will be a bit more expensive than regular prices within the city.
If you work or live in the Clayton neighborhood, I would say you should have your own car so that you don't depend on the expensive taxis and the not so frequent buses.

You don’t need a car to get around within Clayton, because everything is fairly close and the area is very good for walking or taking your bicycle. If you work outside of Clayton, however, or if you go to Panama City a lot or other places, you will need a car.

(Pictured: Panama City, Panama, arial view. To get here from Clayton is not very far, but it is too hot to walk.)
