Clayton has a lot of green and big trees. The cost for a gardener depends on your specific needs; for example, if you only require gardening a small yard, or a big one, and if it includes flowering, or other tasks.
Usually, locals pay a monthly fee to have only one gardener coming either each day or a specific number of days per week. Others chose to only have gardeners once or twice a week. But in the rainy season (April through November) you need to cut your grass on a regular basis; otherwise your yard will not look nice, or bugs will come.
With more and more foreigners arriving and the result being many job opportunities becoming available, not to mention more Panamanians becoming more highly educated each day, those families who used to work inside homes are now are seeking better paying jobs. (Panamá has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the region.) There are lots job and other money-making opportunities out there in Panama, not only for locals, but for foreigners as well, once they comply with immigration documentation.
To be specific, a gardener's salary could go in these days up to $450 / month, which is the minimum salary, or $40 / day for doing the basics, and is getting higher and higher. But when hiring someone, it is a very good idea to ask for legal documents and references, to avoid any problems later.

Your gardener in Clayton would probably be the same person who washes your car and carries your heavy packages. He would also help with other things around the house. For full time, he would cost you about $400 per month.
