Professionals, both Panamanian and others, as well as retired people now occupy the former residences of the Fort at Fort Clayton, Panama, right outside of Panama City. Several international schools, Catholic high schools, UN agencies, US Embassy and residential communities have opened in recent years. Security has increased in Clayton which is located close to the Panama Canal Miraflores locks and El Dorado area.

Close to the Panama Canal visitor´s center, few minutes from the Albrook Mall, and the 2 bridges to go to the "interior" (country side of Panamá) makes Clayton an attractive area. Still, traffic is heavy, and not all facilities are within the neighborhood boundaries. Clayton is located at 30 minutes from Gamboa resort.
As a special note, I´ll mention that it is not called "Panama Canal Zone" anymore...it's simply "Panamá Canal." And is not "Fort Clayton".... it's "Clayton."
