The dress code in the Panama City will depend on the activities that the people do in the city, and lthe same is true for Clayton, which is an area within Panama City.
The dress code is casual or elegant. For example, business people will wear a suit and shirts for an elegant outfit. On the other hand, non-business people will prefer to wear casual clothes. The casual or elegant code in Clayton or elsewhere in the general area of Panama City is during...

In the past, the dress code in Clayton, Panama was military, but now that it no longer is, you can dress any way you want.
A practical concern regarding what to wear in Clayton is that in Clayton, you’ll want to wear something light, because it can be hot.

For the most part, Clayton is a normal upper middle class residential area, where you can find people in casual clothes; everything from shorts to tee shirts and flip flops. You can wear jeans or shorts. If you’re going to do exercise, you can wear your gym clothes.
The only people you will see dressed more formally in Clayton (perhaps in a suit) are those coming from work, perhaps at a bank. Here in Panama if you see someone walking around in a suit, it’s pretty uncommon, unless they are working, because it’s so hot.

The dress code in Clayton depends on what a person does. If you work in a bank, you would wear a tie or a skirt and high heels. But if you are just walking, you would wear shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers. It does not really matter. It doesn’t matter to Panamanians and it doesn’t matter to non-Panamanians. You can basically wear whatever you like.

It’s kind of hot in Clayton, so that’s why we prefer shorts. There is no time of the year where it is cold enough to wear a jacket. It’s hot year round, so jackets are out.
People can be fancy and get dressed up for special occasions, if they are going to birthdays or parties. Fancy people always dress fancy. The dress code also depends on the socio-economic status of the people. So some people dress up nicely all the time and other people don’t, but if you want to dress nicely, you can.
