Just like any other city, like London or New York, wearing jewelry is fine, but it is always recommended that red light districts are avoided (Clayton is just about as far as you can get from a red light district, I should add!). Panama is said to be the safest city in Latin America.

For me, Clayton is safe but I wouldn’t be walking at 11 PM wearing diamonds or a Rolex anywhere in Panama. But during the day, I feel fine.
