Are there natural disasters like flooding, earthquakes, fire or hurricanes in El Valle de Anton, Panama?

The main reason why the canal was built in Panama, was because, luckily, Panama does not get earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes. Other construction examples, from the 15th century, especially in the Casco Viejo area, further support this reality.

Because there are still many very old houses build of wood, sometimes there are some fires, but nothing in Panama like California or Colorado forest fires. As of flooding, yes, sometimes we do get flooding, especially in the rainy season. Rivers gets flooded, and some areas gets damaged, or some streets get lots of water in the city (Panama City), if it rains very heavily. Regarding hurricanes, we just get thunderstorms, very common in the rainy season, especially from May to November. But a good thing in Panamá, is that rain comes and goes during the day. Very few times does it rain all day long.

El Valle de Anton is a very disaster-free area. I have never heard of earthquakes or any major floods in the area. And although El Valle is a volcano, it is a very old and inactive one (last eruption more than 300,000 years ago), so it does not represent a threat to its population.
However, remnants of that volcanic activity can be seen today in the form of hot water springs, very popular in El Valle amongst locals and tourists due to its medicinal properties....

These are the only thermal waters close to Panama City (others of its kind can be found in several location in Chiriqui province).

About the only natural disasters in Panama is flooding. We have no hurricanes, only very minor earthquakes (none to the east of Panama City) and it is so wet that fires are not a problem.
We moved from Florida to avoid the hurricanes. Every now and then we get a tsunami warning.
