Ricki-Lee Joyce - Panama Travel Unlimited

Panamá, Paradise for Outdoor Activities
Coronado, Panamá, one of the oldest golf and equestrian clubs in the Republic of Panamá, is located only one hour by car from one of the Panamá Canal bridges: the Centenial Bridge in the city of Panamá.
Coronado faces the Pacific Ocean and is a moderately-sized gated beach residential project. It started as a weekend homes for Panamanians, with some US citizens living in the area. Later, this area became very attractive to visitors and foreigners from all over the world, as visitors arrived by the thousands, some of them, just to visit, others seeking new places to settle in.
Coronado, Panamá, is surrounded by other picturesque towns, like Gorgona, which is famous for surfing, Chame, Punta Chame, Santa Clara, Punta Barco, Buenaventura, Sea Cliff and San Carlos, among others. Each of these towns offer unique facilities, beginning with singular resorts, modern malls, and excellent restaurants.
At only 45 minutes by car from Coronado, you find El Valle de Antón, Sorá, and Altos del María, communities that offer a mountain environment and good climate. Just the right place for a relaxing life, bird watching and exploring the fauna and vegetation.
Because the country of Panamá has extraordinary weather all year round, the outdoors activities are very popular. Among them you can go surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking in the mountains, water rafting (mainly in the province of Chiriquí), mountain biking, driving "monster trucks", kayaking, (Panamá has lots of rivers and lagoons), golf, horseback riding, boxing, one of the best race tracks ever seen, and, of course, dancing. (Panamanians love to dance). One of the most attractive things to do are bird watching and fishing.
At the other side of the country from the capital city of Panamá, you will find the province of Chiriqui and Bocas del Toro, also very attractive for visitors and foreigners seeking a different way of life, and at the good cost of living, yet, very luxurious, if that is what you are pursuing. Popular places like Boquete, Pedasí, and the isles in Bocas del Toro are of a singular beauty.
If visitors are looking for an extra value in the pure nature life, then the isle of Coiba, and Barro Colorado are two excellent places for an excursion.

Coronado, Panama has an extensive coastline where you can enjoy many activities, including surfing, swimming, horseback riding on the beach, and all the other the sun and sea pleasures that are commonly done on the beach. But I'd like to recommend something really different.

In Valle de Anton, about 45 kilometers from Coronado (about 28 miles) You can perform many outdoor activities. My favorite is Canopy. (That's me in the picture just above.) I will not bore you with the details of how much fun I've had every time I do canopy in Valle de Anton. Come and experience it for yourself!
Canopy Adventure operates at the entrance to El Chorro Macho, a waterfall that you cross through on zipline. There are only 4 lines. These lines are not very long or very fast either when compared to the others I've experienced here in Panama, so for that reason, I recommend this trip for beginners and children. Everything is very safe and the guides are really friendly and are always looking after visitors. Besides, El Chorro Macho waterfall gives a magical touch.
It costs $65 per person if you do the full tour. There is also the option of making just one trip, which is cheaper.
The entire trip will take you approximately 2 hours or perhaps less time, depending on the amount of people.
Hope you have fun!

In addition, Coronado offers exercise studios, yoga studios and water aerobics.
The are several malls in Coronado, Panama opening up, and many more sport bars, health stores and sporting goods stores. There are a plethora of spas in the Coronado area up into El Valle (about an hour from Coronado, into the mountains) and up the coast to the beach resorts of Decameron and Playa Blanca. Fishing is popular and for the big time sports fishing, check out the Chiriquí coast, further up yet.
Mountain climbing, hiking and camping are all around Coronado. Some of the best is at Campana, a national park with cabins and amazing views of the volcanic peaks.
Panama is a natural paradise, and everything is within reach for thrilling sports and daily maintenance. ENJOY!

The best outdoor activity in Coronado, Panama is definitely having happy hours on the rooftop! We have a lot of good happy hours. There is a hotel here in Coronado that has a great rooftop patio with a sushi restaurant below and that is where I think I have been every day in the last month, since it opened. It is a great place to spend time with family or friends.

There is a variety of outdoor activities that you can do in Coronado. You can join triathlons, beach boot camps, or go biking, hiking, or golfing. There are groups that do triathlons together. It is not a serious competition. Anybody can join, and you even have the option to do just a portion of it. You can choose to do just the swimming part and not the cycling. It’s really just a way for people to get together and do something fun.
Another common outdoor activity here in Coronado is going to beach boot camps. It is an exercise or workout class at the beach, which is done at around six or seven in the morning, just before the heat of the day. You will see people from 18 to 60 years old join the beach boot camps.
Biking is also a popular outdoor activity here in Coronado. There are many different interesting areas in the general area with higher altitudes where you can go mountain biking, and they are not very far outside Coronado. There is a little town called Las Lajas, which is a popular biking destination. It is a little hilly but there are beautiful lakes over there.
There are many things to do outside because the weather in Coronado is nice all year round, so everything we do is outside.

The best outdoor activity in Coronado? Well for me, I like to go to the beach and see if I can find sea shells, or whatever is dead that floated up and see if I can name what it is. Also sex outside is great. Maybe you should try that. Depends on how many people are around and who you're with. lol...

Golf is another outside thing some of us like. Find an outside pool with drinks, good food and ocean, etc. That's a good day as well. Go bird watching, if that's your thing. We have many types here. (I don't care about that but that's me.) You can rent some four wheelers and go on a jungle waterfall tour. That rocks. You will always find something that floats your boat here.
