Is there diving, SCUBA or snorkeling in and around Coronado, Panama?

Since Coronado is located on the Pacific Ocean shores, diving and scuba diving are not practiced since the water is not that clear. There are great locations for diving or scuba on the Atlantic/Caribbean side of Panama.

There is a little bit of snorkeling and scuba diving in and around Coronado, but not compared to some of the other areas. Fish like to be around rocky points and in many cases we have long strips of sandy beaches. You’re not really going to see the fish at a sandy beach. We know the fish are there because the fishing boats are out there right now catching fish, but you need to be in a more rocky area in order to see the fish.

There’s not a coral reef in Panama. However, it’s only 4 hours from Coronado to Coiba Island, which is one of the most spectacular coral reefs that you can find. In addition, from Coronado, it’s only 2 hours to the Caribbean to dive all sorts of dive spots like Portabella (just north of Panama City).
