Are there exotic birds in and around Coronado, Panama? Where can I go bird watching in and around Coronado, Panama?

Yes, they are approximately 38 species of exotic birds in and around the areas of Coronado. Coronado has one of the dry rainforests of Panama and most of Central America. The area is protected and belongs to the Eissenman family..
Because of the proximity of mountain areas and during seasons where more fruits and seeds are in Coronado, it´s possible to see toucans, jays, and some of the small bird raptors.

In the Coronado, Panama area, I only know about bird watching in the mountain areas.
I do recommend Volcan (in Chiriquí Province, about 5 hours away from Coronado) as one of the best places in the world for bird watching. In Volcan they have the the famous Quetzal Lodge, which provides great, homey lodging with expeditions into the jungle environs to see many birds and not least the rarest, the Quetzal (pictured to the right). It is a favorite of the Audubon Society.
Speaking specifically about Coronado, from my balcony by the Pacific in Coronado, I see flocks of birds during the migrating season in May. They are beautiful to watch and then of course there are the birds at the beach, running along the tide and swooping down for fish. The trees are also full of birds whose song is a permanent fixture of the locale of Coronado, Panama.

Where to see the birds if you're in the Coronado area???
Why not drive up to El Valle (28 miles from Coronado) and check out the zoo?
It's called El Nispero Zoo and Botanical Garden. It has a small entrance fee, but you get to see many of the local bird species (and other animals) in one place.

Coronado, Panama is not known for its exotic birds, but if you would like to go bird watching, you can go to El Valle de Anton, which is about an hour away from Coronado by car. It is up in the mountains and there are lots of all sorts of exotic birds.
You can also go to the Chiriquí Province, which is about 5 to 6 hours by car. There, you can go to Boquete and Volcan where there are lots of exotic birds. Chiriqui is world-renowned for bird watching....
