What's the closest airport to Coronado, Panama and what are the flights to and from Coronado, Panama?
Ivan Marquez - Manglar lodge
The closest airport to Coronado is Albrook 100 which is only for domestic flights. To Tocumen International Airport is approximately 75 miles from Coronado.
There will be a new airport in Rio Hato which will be much closer but it is still under construction and won't be ready for 1 or 2 years more.

The new airport in Rio Hato (20 minutes from Coronado, Panama) was inaugurated back in November of 2013. The surrounding area is full of beach resorts and residential projects so I believe that it won't take very long until we get more details about local or international flights coming to this airport.

Some say that August 2014 will prove to be a very lucky month because August 2014 will have 5 Fridays & 5 Saturdays & 5 Sundays... Panama's Pacific Ocean Beach Communities will certainly share some of this luck because starting Friday August 1 Canadian charter airline Sunwing will begin weekly non-stop flights from Toronto to Panama's new international beach airport. The airport code is RIH but because this airport is so new it is currently being referred to by different names: Rio Hato or Scarlett Martinez or Playa Blanca.
Canadian tourists will have the selection of four all-inclusive resorts:
- RIU Playa Blanca
- Playa Blanca Resort
- Wyndham Playa Blanca
- Sheraton @ Bijao
The pricing for the flights iis terrific. For more information go to the Sunwing website.

The beauty of Panamá is the abundance of everything; including logistic, airlines from different countries, free zone, industrial special zones, and all the ingredients for investment, tourism and a relaxing life (except,of course, some times with traffic jams in the main cities).

Panamá has the following airports:
- Tocumen International Airport. This is the main airport of Panamá, and located in the city of Panamá. Very modern and with all the facilities one would expect at a major airport.
- Albrook. Located in the neighborhood of Albrook, also in the city of Panamá. It started as a domestic airport, but with capacity for international flights. Albrook is a small airport.
- Howard. Howard airport is Inside the industrial area of Howard. Is also used for international flights. Howard airport Is located by the Pacific entrance of the Panamá Canal.
- Río Hato: The newest renovated airport, about 25 minutes from Coronado. Río Hato Is mainly used for charters, especially from Canada and Spain, but will soon have additional capacity.
- There are also domestic airports in the following cities: David, Chitré, Chame, Santiago, and Isla Colón (in Bocas del Toro).
The airline industry, as well as the ports of Panamá and logistic is working very hard to become a HUB of the Américas.

The closest airport to Coronado, Panama, with local and international flights is Tocumen. Tocumen is in Panama City one and a half hours away from Coronado.
A new airport just opened in Rio Hato, about 20 to 40 minutes drive from Coronado that has Canadian flights coming in, but nothing from the States yet. I am told that within 24 months, the airport in Rio Hato will start having flights coming from the Orlando, Miami, and Atlanta.
