The best ways to get around in Coronado are by car, motorcycle, ATV or golf cart. Distances are long so walking will be hard and since Coronado is a residential are taxis will not be passing in front of your house unless you call them

Traveling to or from Coronado, Panama to Panama City by land (for example, by car or bus) is usually very safe and enjoyable during weekdays and, with little traffic, takes a little more than one hour. But, during the weekends or on holidays, when people often leave Panama City to go to the beaches in and around Coronado, the traffic can be much heavier, so it can take almost two hours.

If you want to take advantage of all the Pacific beach areas (the general area of which Coronado is the most famous), then you will need a car to get around.
There are a lot of expats and a lot of other people who live in the Coronado area who have ATVs [all-terrain vehicle]. What most people do is use an ATV (pictured) or a small 4 x 4 to move around the Coronado area. They use their cars to go to Panama City and back to Coronado or if they want to...

They use their cars to go to Panama City and back to Coronado or if they want to go to some place else outside of Coronado. It is pretty much the same as in Key Biscayne, Florida where they use cars just to get there, but once they are in Key Biscayne, a lot of people use golf carts.

The best way to get around within Coronado, Panama is definitely by car. We always advise people who want to go around Coronado to either rent a car or bicycle or even a motorcycle. If you want to get around and don’t have any of these things, you would have to rely on either a taxi or a bus, and that may take too long and is not as comfortable as having your own car. The bus station is also not as properly maintained as it would be many other cities in the world. Until they develop...

Until they develop the transportation system in Coronado, the best way to around is to have your own car or your own transportation.
You can also walk, but it still depends where you walk to because Coronado is a big area. Walking from your house to the grocery store can be about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on where you are. Some people do it, but some don’t because it’s hot and dry.
You can ride your bike around Coronado. Some people have motorcycles and even mules. (A young mule, pictured). Both expats and locals seem to ride mules nowadays. Golf carts are not very common, but there a few. Mostly, people use cars for transportation within Coronado.
