There are lots of taxis that are readily available in Coronado, Panama. They pass by the streets, especially close to the grocery stores. They are available during the day, just circling around. You can go outside of your house and put your arm up and get a taxi.

If you live inside Coronado, it’s typically going to cost US $2 to $3 for the taxi to take you to the grocery store. Then when you’re done shopping, you take another taxi for $2 to $3 back to your apartment. Let’s say you go out four times...

If you live inside Coronado, it’s typically going to cost US $2 to $3 for the taxi to take you to the grocery store. Then when you’re done shopping, you take another taxi for $2 to $3 back to your apartment. Let’s say you go out four times a week and you’re paying $6 each time. That’s $24 that you’ve spent on taxis. You do that over the course of a month, that’s still under $100 on taxis, which is very inexpensive.

If you have a golf cart, you could get to any of the restaurants in the Coronado area very easily. If you need a taxi to take you to the restaurant, it will cost you around US $5 to $10. If you are going from Coronado to the airport, which is about an hour and a half away, it would cost around $100.
A driver is somebody who you could just call and they could take you where you need to go. They are less expensive in Coronado than a taxi plus you typically get a nicer vehicle, personalized service, and drivers are usually English-speaking while the taxi drivers typically do not speak English. A driver gives you a more personalized type of service versus just an ordinary cab ride. Drivers usually give you discounts. For example, instead of paying $100 for a ride to the airport in a taxi, a driver would only charge you around $80.
