Yes, you can buy good clothes in Coronado, Panama, but the selection is not going to be that big.
There is a department store called El Machetazo on the second floor that has a good selection of good stuff to save your day. They have a little of everything, including brands like Nike and Reebok.
But if you really want to shop for clothes you have to drive to Panama City, about 50 miles away.

Coronado Mall is a great place to buy good clothes in Coronado; however, with not much choice! For example, Machetazo is a stock department where you can find excellent clothes but the most of them are outdoors wear or beach wear... clothes related to activities for that area. If your swimsuit is torn or you lost your sandals, Coronado Mall is the perfect place to buy a replacement because you need to buy one soon. If you're planning a shopping day, I suggest...

If you're planning a shopping day, I suggest to drive 60 kilometers (about 37 miles) through Carretera Panamericana to get to Westland Mall in Nuevo Arraijan. There you will find a huge variety of shops to suit all tastes and budgets.

To get better clothes, you have to either go to Penonome, which is about 20 minutes from Coronado, or go to the Westland Mall (pictured), which is located in Arraijan and more than an hour away, but before Panama City. To reach Penonome, you have to travel west from Coronado towards Panama City. Westland Mall is an American style, huge mall where you will find any of the clothes you like.

There are several really nice dress shops in Coronado, Panama that opened in the last year. They are small boutiques with really nice, high-end clothing. The prices of clothing in these boutiques are similar or close to the prices of items that you would find in clothing stores in the US. If you go to the local shopping, you will find bargains for clothing but the quality and the design will not be the same as those that you will find in the big high-end...

You could also go to the Westland Mall, which is about 30 minutes away from Coronado. It has a Conways where you could get some middle to high-end clothes. It’s like Kohl’s in the US or a little bit more high end than Target. The prices for items in Westland Mall are a little less than the prices in the US by around 25%.

If you want a suit and tie, sorry.Coronado is a beach community, so you will see the brands you’re going to see in the US for beach-type clothing. So you can go right now to Machetazo (like a Wal-Mart) and buy Ocean Pacific, and several other well-known brands. You’re not getting anything...

The Machetazo has three stories. It even has an escalator that picks up your grocery cart and takes it sideways up the escalator.
I can also get a lot of clothes made in Colombia. I can go to the mall and get handmade leather shoes made in Colombia that are just fantastic.
We have a new mall opening that was designed in Canada. It will have what would equal to a Home Depot and Do It Center. It’s going to have a sports bar. It has a Payless shoe store. That’s here in Coronado and it’s opening as we speak.
If you want a megamall, we have the Westland Mall which is 40 minutes from here that has the Cinemark movie theatre with the reclining chairs and leather seats and a food court the size of a football field and every possible store in it and it would be equal in size to a US mall.
