Coronado, Panama was established in the 1940s. - There are many wealthy Panamanians who have mansions on or near the beaches in Coronado as second homes and who use their properties mostly on the weekends and on holidays.
- There is a relatively large expat community, many of whom also do not live here full time. The membership of CASA (Coronado Area Social Association; a group of expats) is more than 300. Most of the expats living in Coronado are North Americans.
