You will find wealthy and upper middle class Panamanians living there in newly renovated buildings and apartments, including ex vice presidents and the Grammy award winning musician and actor, Ruben Blades, as well as many expats from many countries. Right next door, as shown in the photo, you may find very poor Panamanians of Latino, Indigenous or Afro Caribbean descent living in squalor or squatting in a vacant building that may or may not have electricity, running water or even a roof, and often with trees growing out of the roof!
