How long will I have to wait for a doctor's appointment in the Panama City, Panama area of Casco Viejo?

There are no doctors in the immediate Casco Viejo area of Panama City. The closest place to Casco Viejo that has doctors is Hospital Nacional, which is a national hospital, located about 15 minutes away by car. You can also go to Punta Pacifica, which is also pretty close, maybe 20 minutes away by car.
If you go to either of these hospitals, you will need to have an appointment. If you go to a private clinic, which is different, you will have to wait,...

Going to the clinic will be a lot cheaper but going to the clinic is not covered by insurance. You can just walk in if you need to, but normally, you would make an appointment. It doesn’t take long to get an appointment; many times, you could even make an appointment for the same day, but you have to check the availability of the doctor, because sometimes they won’t be available; it depends on the doctor as well. If you don’t make an appointment, you can generally be seen within a couple of hours; they will try to work you in.

When you ask for a doctor's appointment here in Casco Viejo and nearby in Panama City, for a specialty in particular, it’s very rare that they give you an appointment that is months away. You can get an appointment within a week. If it something really urgent, the appointment will definitely be on the same day. If it’s private care, you will definitely have a spot and you can book in advance. If it is an emergency, just go to the emergency room and they’ll call the...

There are some really good hospitals around the area of Casco Viejo, although not in Casco Viejo, itself.
Usually doctors see patients at certain times of the day. Let's say you have an appointment between 2 and 4 PM. 10 other people will have the same appointment. The first to arrive is the first to be seen. So get there at 1:30 PM.
