Where are the best beaches in and around Boquete, Panama?

We don't have beaches in Boquete because we're up in the mountains, but only 45 minutes away we have Las Olas beach.

From the mountain tops on a clear day you can see the Pacific Ocean from Boquete. The roads are good and you can reach beaches just south of David, an hour and half away. We are about three and half or four hours from the Caribbean community of Bocos del Toro on the Atlantic side.
Buses leave Boquete several days a week for Bocos Del Toro and buses to David leave a few times day. You can rent a car for about $60 USD a day and enjoy exploring on...

The Pacific side has many places that have condos or hotels that can be rented. The prices are similar to the USA for resort areas. I suggest you go online and type in key words or visit under the tabs on this site for hotels and rentals.
Beaches often do not have life guards, there are strong currents and rip tides are especially dangerous around the tide changes. Be careful when visiting the beaches anywhere in Panama.
The temperature is much hotter in the beach areas. Once you have enjoyed the sun and surf you will be pleasantly surprised by the drive home. The closer you get to Boquete the cooler it becomes, soon the air conditioner is off and the windows are open. Then as you breath deeply of the fresh, cool mountain air you relax. Life is good in Boquete.

Dear reader,
We might not have beaches in Boquete Panama because Boquete is in the mountains but we do have excellent beaches elsewhere in the same province of Chiriqui!
For example, beautiful places like Las Lajas and amazing islands where you can take a boat from Boca Chica on the Pacific Ocean, white sand and clear waters just perfect to do snorkeling or scuba diving :)
The islands are easy to go after driving...

The islands are easy to go after driving for an hour and a half, then 45 minutes by boat. To make it easy you can hire a guide or get a tour in Boquete and you can go for a day or even go camping!!
Now come to Boquete and I will show you the best of Boquete and Chiriqui :)

Boquete is a small mountain town about 45 minutes to the north of David and does not have any beaches nearby. On the other hand, the location of David offers easy access to the mountains or the Pacific Ocean. From the marina in a suburb of Pedrigal on the south side of the city, the waterways lead to the Pacific Ocean.
David is only 35 minutes from the nearest Pacific coast beach at Playa La Barqueta. Another beach near David is Las Lajas, preferred by many people...

David is only 35 minutes from the nearest Pacific coast beach at Playa La Barqueta. Another beach near David is Las Lajas, preferred by many people because this beach is quite shallow and a good beach for family swimming.
To the west of David an hour and fifteen minutes away, you will find some lovely beaches near the town of Puerto Armuelles on Punta Barica and, if you ask one of the locals, they can direct you to an obscure, unique, very picturesque beach south of Alanje called Estero Rico. This one is really worth the trip offering both salt and brackish water beaches on either side of a long sand spit that parallels the coast.

Actually in Boquete, Panama there are no beaches, but the closest beach is about 1 hour and twenty minutes away. The name of the beach is "La Barqueta". There´s also "Las Lajas" beach about 1 hour and 35 minutes away. A highway is being constructed right now that will be finish by the end of this year, so it will be easy and faster than before to reach these beaches.

There are no beaches in Boquete because the town is up in the mountains. David is not on the coastline so it doesn't have beaches.
Going down south to the Pacific side, the closest beach to Boquete is two hours away and is called Las Lajas. It is a simple beach with a few restaurants so it is better to take your own food because the beach is big and your spot on the beach may not be close to restaurants or the restaurants might be closed.

Another beach near Boquete is La Barqueta, which is a 2-hour and 30-minute drive from Boquete. If you are bringing kids to this beach, you have to be careful because the waves create new sand banks and the holes beside the banks are deep.
Las Lajas and La Barqueta are both a part of the Chiriquí province.
Boca Chica is a little town with a port where you can take a boat to go to different islands like Isla Gamez and Isla Bolaños. The beach of Isla Bolaños is smaller than the beach of Isla Gamez, but both are so beautiful that it feels like the sun is brighter in these islands than the sunshine in Las Lajas and La Barqueta. Boca Chica is a two-hour drive from Boquete.
Up north on the Caribbean side is Bocas del Toro. To get to Bocas del Toro from Boquete, you can drive for five hours or take a bus for seven hours to Port Almirante where there are boats that take visitors to Bocas del Toro. You can park your car at the port and take a 30 or 45-minute boat ride to Isla Colón in Bocas. The trip to Bocas del Toro is not a day trip because it's too far and you would need to spend at least three days there.
